Next Stop: Mexico
Our next scouting trip was to the Yucatan in Mexico. Remembering our luck with local recommendations for places to visit from teachers and students in Colombia, we signed up for a week of Spanish immersion at the Meztli School in Tulum. And once again, we were given some fantastic tips. Some highlights include Valladolid, Campeche and Bacalar. We discovered our love of cenotes and Jay continued his quest for hot chili pepper sauce and lamb tacos. We had an amazing time. And though it often felt more like a place to vacation than to live, it was still a contender.
So, after a month in the Yucatan, Mexico was also put on our short list and we hopped a bus south to our next stop – Guatemala.
